Private lessons for Japanese as a second language

For everyone learning Japanese, our JLS teachers are committed to supporting you and guaranteeing the fastest possible improvement.

Let's learn the skills and knowledge of Japanese as a foreign language step by step.

If you study, you will definitely become able to speak well.

The concept behind the lessons at Japanese Language Learning Support (JLS) is to train you in tangible Japanese language skills in one month .

(※Since language is primarily sound, it would also be fair to say "audible to the ear.")

Let's create an environment where people say, "Wow, your Japanese has improved!"

The goal of studying a foreign language is to acquire various skills.

For example, studying can be broken down into simpler categories such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

We will break down a large, comprehensive Japanese (foreign language) learning curriculum and develop it into a technically systematic system aligned with a certain ideology. Let's study step by step, item by item.

■Pronunciation training starts with training your "mouth to produce Japanese sounds" and your "ears to hear Japanese sounds."

■ Grammar progresses from everyday and short sentences to more complex, practical examples, focusing on "sentence patterns" that connect words.

■Conversational ability is something that is refined after acquiring knowledge and skills in the rules of the Japanese language.

Your teacher is your personal trainer, so speak a lot and practice your Japanese to your heart's content.

This includes Japanese manners, common sense in communication, and even general knowledge of Japanese culture.

I would be happy if I could become fluent in Japanese.

To achieve the goal of having a conversation, I believe that being knowledgeable is just as important as having good language skills.

Having a passion for and knowledge of Japan will always create enjoyable conversations and help expand your circle of friends and acquaintances.

■Challenge the JLPT, and try other exams too!!

Leave your specialized studies to our professional teachers.

We will provide you with study methods and know-how for passing various Japanese language proficiency tests, tailored to their specific formats.

An exam is like a "letter"—you're expected to give a clear, concise, and satisfying answer to the teacher who created it.

Understanding the "other person" might be a rule of language that applies to both conversations and exams.

■ Acquire business-level Japanese

Leave your lessons to JLS.

Since the establishment of our office, we have been fortunate to receive the patronage of many business professionals, and we are proud of the experience and achievements we have accumulated over the years.

Specialized teachers will serve as trainers for everything from polite language and manners to document creation skills.

At JLS, our lessons are by appointment only, so all classes are one-on-one instruction.

■We will design a course plan to suit your budget.

■ We will design the course to accommodate your schedule as much as possible.

■We will seriously create an environment where you can concentrate on studying.

One of the most difficult things about learning Japanese is the sheer volume of knowledge you have to memorize.

The words all sound unfamiliar, and the vocabulary itself is very extensive, so if you only focus on the goal (learning objective), the curriculum you need to study becomes unclear.

If you listen carefully to how native Japanese speakers speak, you'll notice that even simple one or two-word greetings are intricately constructed, and there are moments when you're struck by the beauty in their calm, steady pronunciation and the way they hold their breath as they read long sentences.

The feel and character of a native speaker's language is a result of the overwhelming amount of knowledge they possess about it being their mother tongue, which comes together as a whole.

When you feel like you "can't speak well" or "still have a long way to go" despite studying, the difference in skills is often due to a gap in the level of acquisition, which can be measured in terms of the actual technical aspects, specifically in terms of the 'volume of knowledge'.

In short, memorization skills are undoubtedly essential for improving language proficiency. How to memorize is a challenge that always requires ingenuity, but leave it to the training methods we teachers propose.

In JLS lessons, you will put into practice learning through experience.

■Let's focus on learning the Japanese you need to learn at this stage and build up the steps towards your learning goals.

'When the east wind blows, send forth your fragrance, plum blossoms; do not forget spring, even though your master is gone.'

This is a waka poem by the god of learning, and it's a verse addressed to a beloved plum tree, saying, "When the spring wind from the east begins to blow, please don't forget spring, and send your wonderful fragrance all the way to me, who is no longer here."

When you extract meaning from "Waka" (Japanese poetry) using "modern Japanese," the Japanese words appear with a completely different atmosphere.

The vocabulary is different, and the Japanese sentences become longer and more connected. The rhythm created by the sounds themselves changes to something that doesn't even seem like the same language.

Let's read. There is something to be learned in reading any unit of text. Japanese language skills, in particular, can be steadily honed through reading practice.

The conditions for a "learning task" are that the words that make up a sentence (and furthermore, the characters and pronunciations that make them up) are selected and gathered according to the learning stage, and that the grammatical rules that connect them are used in a way that is just right in terms of length and complexity, so that the continuous flow of "Japanese" is enjoyable to read.

Whether it's greetings, short conversations, letters, reports, or books, the more you analyze and break down Japanese as a subject to learn, the clearer the "study" you need to memorize becomes.

As the saying goes, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step," and there's a lot of truth to that.

You don't need to travel thousands of miles to acquire Japanese conversation skills, but every step you take will undoubtedly make progress.

During class time, make the most of it by reading plenty of Japanese text and listening attentively to your study partner (teacher).

Studying is the process of acquiring vocabulary and grammatical knowledge one by one to improve your language skills; understanding is being able to vividly feel the meaning embedded in words; and "understanding Japanese" is being able to skillfully connect the words you've learned and speak them.

Knowledge is always clear. It is clearly there.

We Japanese language teachers have a comprehensive understanding of the Japanese language as a whole.

My job is to prepare the necessary study materials precisely for each lesson and to teach you the key points of language use.

So, if you're thinking, "I want to learn Japanese," let's start with the private lessons we at JLS have prepared for you.
