Hello everyone.
This year is already over, isn't it?
Today I would like to introduce you to Aesop's fable "The Fox and the Crane."
"Fox and Crane"
Once upon a time, there lived a mischievous fox.
The fox was always playing tricks on everyone and getting them into trouble.
One day, the fox happened to be on the road with his good friend, and greeted him.
"Hey, Tsuru-kun! How are you?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. What about Kitsune-kun?"
When asked so, the fox came up with a prank.
Then he said,
“I’m fine too.
“Really?
"How about lunch tomorrow?"
"Good. See you tomorrow!"
Without questioning anything, the vine decided to go home.
The next day, the vine came to the fox's house at the appointed time.
Ton ton ton…
"Hi, Kitsune-kun. Excuse me."
"Welcome! Come on, come on, come on, come on!"
The fox led the vine into the living room.
The living room already smells delicious.
"It's just finished. Enjoy it."
The fox served freshly made soup in front of the vine.
"Wow, this looks delicious. I'll have it."
The vine immediately tried to drink the soup that the fox had made.
However, since the soup was served in a flat plate, the vine's long beak was in the way and it was difficult to drink it well.
On the contrary, I spilled a lot of soup on the table with my beak hitting the plate.
The fox looked at it and laughed with great satisfaction.
“Oh, Tsuru-kun.
At that time, the fox drank all the soup for the vine.
The vine finally realized that the fox had put out a plate that was difficult to drink from.
Then he went home with a sad look on his face.
The next day, Tsuru invited the fox to his house.
“Thank you for inviting me to your house.
"Yes, are you sure? I'm happy! Then don't hesitate."
The fox happily followed the vine, forgetting about the prank he had made yesterday.
When I arrived at Tsuru's house, Tsuru immediately went into the kitchen and started preparing a feast.
The fox sat at the table and waited with anticipation to see what kind of delicacies would be served.
After a while, the vine came out of the kitchen.
"Kitsune-kun, thank you for waiting. I've made a delicious soup. Now, don't hesitate to drink a lot!"
“It smells delicious.
The fox tried to drink the soup.
However, the soup that Tsuru brought is in a long, narrow pot.
The vine puts its long beak into the jar and enjoys drinking the soup, but the fox cannot drink the soup well.
When the vine drank all his soup,
"Oh, it was delicious. Huh? Kitsune-san, didn't you like my soup? Then I'll take it."
I drank all the fox soup.
The fox realized that what he did yesterday had made his friend so sad.
Then the fox apologized to the vine, and the two became good friends again.
After that, the fox stopped playing pranks.
