I would like to introduce one story to everyone who is learning Japanese this time as well.

I would like to introduce a story called "Kechi Compare". Please check out the new words and expressions.

By the way, do you all know Japanese rakugo? Rakugo is a traditional Japanese comedy and joke. "Kechi comparison" is also one of the rakugo stories. Rakugo has special tones and words, so let's sort it out a little before reading it.

There are two scenes in this story. At first, there will be three people, "Danna (the owner of a certain store)", "Kozo-san (a boy clerk at the store)", and "a person from a neighbor's house".

In the second scene, two women appear. Let's read while imagining each scene. Also, think about what "miser" means.

"Kechi comparison"

There are a lot of stingy people in the world, but when you look at those people, there are things that are very stingy.

A store owner said.

"Kozo, I'm fixing the shutters, so go next to me and borrow a hammer."

"Yes, I will go."

Kozo-san went next to me

"Hello. I'm sorry, I'd like you to lend me a hammer ..."

"I don't have to lend you, but do you want to hit an iron nail or a bamboo nail?"

"I'm going to fix the shutter, so I'm sure it's an iron nail."

"Then I can't lend you. If you get stuck with iron and iron, you'll lose money ..."

"ah I see."

Kozo-san is back.

"I'm back. I'm not going to lend you."

"why?"

"Hey, I was asked if I would hit an iron nail or a bamboo nail, so if I answered that I would hit an iron nail, I couldn't lend it because if I could do it with iron and iron, I would lose money. That's why ... "

"Hmm, how stupid. It can't be helped, let's take our out and use it."

Then I don't know which one is stingy.

There is another story about these stingy people making a stingy comparison.

"How long will you use your fan?"

"I will use this fan for 10 years."

"10 years? ... How soon will you use it?"

"Open half. I'll use it for the first 5 years. If that doesn't work, open the other half and use it for 5 years."

"Yeah, but it's not interesting to open only half the fan. I'll open it all."

"Well, then the fan is badly damaged, isn't it?"

"That's why I hold an open fan in my hand and shake my head."

Then the wind won't come.

How was it.

It might have been a little difficult. Did you see any words for the first time? If you have any, please take this opportunity to check it out.

This story is actually longer, but this time I introduced some of them.

Now, I have a question for everyone who read "Kechi Compare".

Q, what kind of person was a "strange person"?

…… A “stinky person” was a person who didn't want to spend much because he thought he was wasting his own things and money. A word similar to this is "frugal house". "Stingy people" have a negative image, but "frugal people" have a positive image of how well they spend their money. I will also introduce example sentences.

"He came all the way to eat, but he only asks for cheap food. He's a stingy person." "Mr. Tanaka is a frugal person who calculates his monthly expenses properly and wastes money. I don't. I'm a solid person. "

How about that. Did you understand the meaning and usage of "stingy person" and "frugal person"?

Also, the last line of rakugo is interesting. In this story, "I can't help it, let's take out my house and use it." "Hold the open fan in your hand and shake your head."

This interesting line is called "fall". With this line, the story ends tightly. It's called "rakugo" because the story goes down.

Today, I introduced a story called "Kechi Compare".

I hope it helps you in your studies. Did you have a little interest in rakugo?
